Taylor Hicks -- Alive & Doing Well
Season Five "American Idol" winner Taylor Hicks took time out from not selling records to help build houses in Alabama on Thursday.
The 33-year-old Soul Patrol leader is doing his part by working with the charity Habitat for Humanity.
Hicks could use some good career karma.

That's hilarious. I, too have only voted 1 time in all of the seasons of Idol - and it was for Taylor. In fact, had to call many times just to get through. to his number.

Love Taylor...TMZ is always the negative side of life...it is their life. They really go to such extremes to get one's attention just to read the truth and see that that headline is a line of crap....it gets old...If they can't put a headline up there on Taylor that is nice, they shouldn't have ran the piece...

Whoever wrote that one-line "dig" at the top of this article, your jealousy is SO obvious. You get to "slave" over these "magnificently" long top-notch articles, while Taylor gets to do what he LOVES: sing, sing, sing! And see his name in lights on Broadway additionally! It's GREAT, isn't it? Not only that, but he has LOTS of fans ~ which YOU DON'T!

I'm a fan and will always be a fan, and as a fan I know what good thing Taylor Hicks has done and is still doing. You can try to make yourselves look better by knocking him but those who really follow Taylor know the truth.

Taylor is still the King of ratings for American Idol, and he has always been involved in Charity Work. Who pays you guys to always write bad things about him? He is an amazing performer, and many of the AI contestants last year could have learned from him, so I believe you were all paid off to write negative things. However, Taylor will outlast you, and still be performing doing what he wants, recording on his own label, and living life right where he wants to be regardless of your negative TRASH. I would love to see some of your reporters spend some time helping people in need of homes instead of producing this kind of junk.
