What is the love affair award ceremonies have with Jeremy Renner?? Not much difference in his The Hurt Locker performance and THE Town character except he mumbles in a Boston accent. Plus, he is not on screen that much! I don't get it. (He fell great in the death scene so I guess that's it.) I am not a fan of Ben Afflick as an actor but he was terrific THE TOWN....much more deserving. Notice poor Leo Decaprio is out of the running as usual. His movies always get nominated but he must be invisible to the nominators.

James Franco is awsome in "127 hours", and WOOOW, he is nominated while he hosts the ceremony!

I know I am not going to watch the academy awards this year. You have got to be kidding with the hosts. Who choses them. Times are changing and so should the awards including the nominees.

So happy that Winter's Bone was nominated. It's a dark film, earthy, real. And, Jennifer Lawrence is totally deserving of her nomination. A performance I remembered long after I saw the movie.

Oh no - I feel bad for Ben Afleck - he really did a much better than usual job in The Town. I wonder how much of this is political? Did he piss anyone off? Like DiCaprio and Russel Crowe?

Seriously! Where is Ben Affleck?! He was amazing in the Town as the director and an actor and of course no credit. I agree with you about Leo too - He was fantastic in Inception. AND Mila Kunis in The Black Swan - why isnt she in the supporting category? She has had a fantastic year picking up exceptional roles. Its the same as the Globes - what is if the point of having two?

Melissa Leo deserved to be nominated for "Best Supporting Actress" for her role in "The Fighter." She should win!

I personally liked "The Kings Speech" and Colin Firth.
I thought "Social Network" was interesting but music too loud and all the young adults too hyper.
I think Helena B Carter or Hailee Steinfeld should get best supporting actress, probably Hailee should,
"Tot Story 3" should get best animated, hands down!
