Julianne Hough is in final negotiations to co-star opposite Tom Cruise in "Rock of Ages" -- and she'd be playing a stripper!
In the film adaptation of the Broadway musical, the "Dancing with the Stars" hip-shaker-turned-country singer would play "Sherrie," a small-town girl who is rejected by Cruise's rock star and becomes an exotic dancer.
Director Adam Shankman, who attended the L.A. premiere of the musical with Hough by his side (right), told Hollywood Reporter Julianne was "nothing short of a miracle" during her audition.
Mary J. Blige will also star, Alec Baldwin and Russell Brand are also "circling" roles.
