Soap opera fans are lamenting the cancellations of "All My Children" and "One Life to Live" -- and so are some of the stars that got their big breaks on the shows.
Many stars honed their acting skills on the now-canceled soaps, including Oscar-winners Melissa Leo and Tommy Lee Jones. Heartthrobs Josh Duhamel, Ryan Phillippe and Brandon Routh all got their starts on the daytime dramas as well.

Kelly Ripa, who played Hayley Vaughan on "All My Children" for 12 years and met her husband Mark Consuelos on the show, was upset. "All My Children was more than a job," Ripa said in a statement. "It was my family. It was there that I met my husband; it was there when my first two children were born; it was there where I met many of my life-long friends."
"It was the greatest training ground ever. I feel heartsick," Ripa added.
"All My Children" will end in September 2011, and "One Life to Live" in January 2012.
