Megan Fox Explains Why She's Removing Her Marilyn Monroe Tattoo

Megan Fox is well-known for her many body tattoos, but she's getting rid of her most noticeable one -- a portrait of Marilyn Monroe on her right forearm.

"I'm removing it," Fox told Italian fashion magazine Amice. "She was a negative person, she was disturbed, bipolar. I do not want to attract this kind of negative energy in my life."

The 25-year-old actress had her Monroe tattoo covered by make-up in "Transformers" and gloves in "Jennifer's Body."

She's been undergoing laser treatments to remove the body art, a process she says hurts.

Fox is keeping her other tattoos for now, including a Shakespeare quote on her shoulder that reads "We will all laugh at gilded butterflies," a tribal tattoo on her left wrist, and a star on her left ankle. Click on the "Launch Gallery" button above to see her tattoos.

The Monroe tattoo isn't the only adornment she's removed. Also gone? A navel piercing.

"I did it when I was 16-years-old because I was a fan of Britney Spears," Fox admits. "The only time I tried to imitate someone else. But then I thought it was tacky and so I removed it when I turned 20."

I thought maybe she got it when she was a male and now that she is a female and married, it seems awkward for a girl to have it. Who knows it is her story let her make it up the way she sees fit.

I think Megan Fox needs to think things through a little more, before making such statements like that. It's just so hypocritical, for her to say those things about Marilyn Monroe. I take offense to what she said. I don't feel that Marilyn brought any negativity to her fans. Her fans adored her.I guess after bad mouthing Micheal Bay. She's looking to blame someone else,for her lagging career.

Megan Fox is an IDIOT! There are/were hundreds of FAMOUS people who are/were Bi-polar. (Manic Depressive) All of them...Poets, Writers, Artists, Actors/Actresses, Scientists, and Musicians. The truth of the matter is being GENIUS, is linked to being Bi-Polar. Perhaps that's why Megan Fox is such a BAD actress. She is sane and BORING.

I hope she takes off the others, too. It's unfortunate that tattoos are trendy. Young girls can make mistakes putting them on and have to suffer taking them off. It's just my personal opinion, but I think tattoos make people look tacky. I think she would feel better about herself if she had all of them removed.

My first thought was "what an ignorant moran" due to her reasoning that Maralyn was bi-polar and therefore a negative person.. I mean talk about digging yourself a popularity grave.

Then as i read the comments about her possibly also having bi-polar or some other mental illness i suddenly felt very sorry for her.. She's very pretty (like fame this is something that won't last) and i can't speak for her acting talent or lack there of as i haven'*****ched any of the films she's been in.

Personally i love tattoos and for someone with so much money you'd think she'd get better ones done in the first place.. having anyones face done is always gonna be a bad idea.

Anyway i hope she gets her mental illness diagnosed and treated... Mental illness is no laughing matter, it can crummble the strongest of us and affects everyone not just the person with the illness.. Good luck Megan...

Megan is definitely beautiful, But nobody compares to the late Marilyn Monroe and now because of this, I'm thinking about removing any films in my Library with fox in them for that insult.
