"The X Factor": Melanie Amaro Shines on Michael Jackson Night!

The remaining contestants on "The X Factor" had to perform Michael Jackson songs last night ... as MJ's kids and mother sat in the audience. No pressure!

And while a couple performances impressed the judges, the only one who really lived up to the task was Melanie Amaro.

The college student was given the so-called "Pimp Spot" at the end of the show and closed the night with a moving rendition of "Earth Song."

The performance was so good, Nicole Scherzinger ridiculously told her "If that performance doesn't save a small country somewhere, I don't know what will." O.K. Nicole ...



So what did the family think of the performances? Katherine Jackson said "I think he [Michael] would have been very proud," Prince Michael said "All the performances were amazing" and Paris added "Everyone was absolutely fantastic."

Blanket was there too, but didn't speak.

I wish these shows will stop covering Icon's such as Michael Jackson. Those kids butchered his songs. It was a disgrace as a fan. Despite his family being in the audience that show sucked.
