Katie Couric Splits from Boyfriend Brooks Perlin

Katie Couric is living solo.

The ABC news anchor and boyfriend of five years, Brooks Perlin, have split -- a rep for Katie confirms to Us Weekly.

The two started dancing after meeting at a cancer research fundraising event in 2006. Couric's husband, Jay Monahan passed away from colon cancer in 1998.

A friend of Couric's tells New York Post "Brooks is a great person and a real gentleman; he and Katie enjoyed their time together."

The friend continues, "But after five years, they have decided it was time to go their separate ways."

Anyone who "hooks up" with Katie is ready to get away from her as soon as possible. She just can't seem to commit to any relationship and I'm sure she is impossible to live with. Her caustic online persona is probably the same off-air.
