Katy Perry's "Wide Awake" Music Video -- A Goth Fairy Tale!

Katy Perry's new music video for "Wide Awake" may be one of her darkest yet ... and boy does the look suit her!

The just-released clip plays out like a goth fairytale, with Katy sporting gorgeous dark purple locks and a cloak as she explores a shadowy kingdom.

Along the way she meets a young version of herself, faces off against weird minotaur-looking things in a hospital and even punches Prince Charming ... a possible reference to Russell Brand?

While weird, the video is visually stunning and, as we've said before, we really like the darker look on the usually bright and cheery singer.
