Is This The Next Carly Rae Jepsen?

Carly Rae Jepsen scored the hit of the summer with her infectious pop tune "Call Me Maybe."

But the music industry is always looking for the next big thing, and it might find it in 19-year-old Cher Lloyd.

Cher has a lot in common with Carly Rae: they're both brunette, petite (5'2"), and got their big breaks on singing competitions (Cher placed 4th on "The X Factor" U.K., while Carly Rae was third on "Canadian Idol").

"Call Me Maybe" still holds the top spot on the Billboard 100, but Cher's single "Want U Back" is climbing steadily, hitting No. 12 this week (last week it was No. 17) and getting increased play on radio. The ultimate sign it's a hit? Cher will be releasing a bonus version with Snoop Dogg on her new album Sticks + Stones, which drops September 18th.
