You may know former beauty queen Kari Ann Peniche from "Celebrity Rehab," Playboy or her "naked tape" with Eric Dane and Rebecca Gayheart ... but for Joe Sumeriski, he knew her as his online girlfriend.
On last night's episode of "Catfish," MTV's addictive new reality show about people who set out to meet their online lovers, Joe was convinced he and the Playboy model had something special ... despite never meeting her in person.
So ... was his online love who she claimed to be? Spoilers ahead!
While we were hoping this would finally be the episode with a happy ending, Joe was grossly disappointed to find out his friend Rose had been pretending to be Kari with an intricate web of fake Facebook profiles.
Check out Joe's moment of truth above.
After the episode aired, the real Kari Ann took to her real Facebook page to post about the incident ... where she actually sympathized with Rose.
"After seeing the catfish episode I feel kind of bad for that Rose girl who feels she needs to use other peoples image," she wrote in a rambling blog post.
"She said that she is addicted to it or something on the episode obviously there are some much deeper issues there and I can only wish her well and I hope she takes down the profile now," she added.
