Warning: The following article contains spoiler from last Sunday's episode of "The Walking Dead."
It's the mystery that fans of "The Walking Dead" have been waiting three seasons to be solved -- the fate of Morgan (Lennie James) and Duane Jones.
The Joneses are the ones who rescued Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) after he awoke from his coma way back in the first episode of the series. They parted ways in King County so that Rick could try to find his family in Atlanta. Rick promised to hail Morgan via walkie talkie every morning but due to the zombie attacks Rick got pushed out of broadcast range.
Jump to last night's episode. Rick, son Carl (Chandler Riggs) and Michonne (Danai Gurira) returned to King County to restock on guns and ammo. Unbeknownst to them, Morgan had bunkered himself in the town, setting up zombie snares and booby traps. Morgan shot at the group, but was taken down by Carl.
After regaining consciousness, Morgan attacked Rick, until he recognized his old friend. Morgan revealed that Duane was bitten by his zombified wife Jenny, who Morgan refused to kill in episode 1. The loss of Duane and isolation drove Morgan mad. Rick offered Morgan a place in his group, but Morgan decided to stay behind ... minus a few guns that Rick took with him for the upcoming battle against The Governor (David Morrissey).
Fun fact: Lincoln, James and Morrissey are all British actors! Pretty impressive accents, right?
Last night's other shocker was hearing Michonne speak. She's had very limited dialogue this season, but in this episode established herself as a protective mom to Carl and shared some of her past with Rick. Here's looking to much more Michonne character development in the upcoming episodes!
You voted Lori's (Sarah Wayne Callies) death as the most shocking moment of the first half of Season 3. What's been the most shocking moment of the second half?
And, in this bonus clip, watch "Saturday Night Live" spoof the AMC drama. You know you've made it when you get made fun of on "SNL"!
