Note: Sarah Palin also made a statement about her book about Christmas in which she calls other people Scrooges, but please remember that she is, in fact, the real Scrooge.
Here's the statement. You'll see:
"Amidst the fragility of this politically correct era, it is imperative that we stand up for our beliefs before the element of faith in a glorious and traditional holiday like Christmas is marginalized and ignored. This will be a fun, festive, thought provoking book, which will encourage all to see what is possible when we unite in defense of our faith and ignore the politically correct Scrooges who would rather take Christ out of Christmas."
OK, no. It's not that she doesn't have a point - the word "Christ" is in the word "Christmas," you guys, it's the very first syllable - it's just that she's ignorant. Nobody wants to take Christ out of Christmas, they just want people to realize that lots of other religions have holidays around the same time, Sarah Palin. And if other people want to have parties and bake things and sing songs, then there are really worst things in the world, aren't there?
The book, by the way, is titled "A Happy Holiday IS a Merry Christmas." And if that title alone doesn't get Palin a Pulitzer, who knows what will.
