"Being sexy is just one component of who I am — it’s a thing I can be. It’s a side of myself I can tap into, just like I can tap into my funny side, my quirky side or my dramatic side. It’s not what I am. I suppose I knew I was attractive but usually you just have to get used to dealing with guys who are constantly coming on to you. Every cute girl has to deal with that."
--Eva Mendes on being sexy and cute (and subliminally indicating through absolutely nothing that she's Ryan Gosling's girlfriend - BOOM, those of you who aren't).
To be fair, Eva also said a whole lot of other things in this interview that actually maybe revealed why Ryan Gosling thinks she's such a prize to behold, and while that makes things more complicated for those of us who have Eva Mendes voodoo dolls, it also might serve to heal some of the anxiety in our hearts, because now we might know (aside from BOOBS AND MOLE) why Ryan Gosling chose to settle down with Eva Mendes for the last eighteen months.
Open your minds, guys, because there's some content here that might prompt you to sort some stuff out with yourself before you continue hating on Eva Mendes for being Eva Mendes - because here comes admirable Eva Mendes:
"Beauty can be boring in some ways, especially if you’re with a guy who is focused on his looks all the time."
"I’m the only one who’s responsible for whatever image of myself I’ve put out there. This business often wants to sexualize women and I understand that, but at some point I got tired of being always thought of as ‘sexy’ and allowed that description to define the kind of work I was doing."
“I think I always dreamed of becoming an actress but I never really believed deep down that I would be able to have that kind of life. ... So I never felt I wanted to go through life and become dependent on a man to support me.”
Come on. Now tell me, how can you keep on hating a girl who's so clearly got her head on her shoulders? Let's just resign, OK? Can we just let Eva Mendes have Ryan Gosling and all of his children, too, if that's what she really wants?
