Don't misinterpret, though - Yoko Ono's sentiments didn't ruin the day; the thing that ruined the day was the reality of the situation that almost 1.1 million Americans have been killed by firearms since John Lennon was assassinated in 1980. To be fair, John's (?) bloody (?) glasses didn't help matters much, either.
Here's Yoko's accompanying Tweet:
The death of a loved one is a hollowing experience. After 33 years our son Sean and I still miss him.
Regardless of your stance on gun control or any other society-related, hot-button issues, you have to admit: there's nothing like losing someone you love to a senseless, violent crime, and that's probably the moral of today's sad, depressing story.
