"He told a lie, he's not a liar. When [the news] came out, I took it personally, but then I realized it ain't personal to him. I was going, ‘That son of a bitch!' But then I thought, ‘Well, what was he supposed to do? Call me to the side and go, 'Hey, I did this?' But I'm happy for him now, because despite all this outside conflict, he doesn't have this inner conflict anymore."
- Matthew McConaughey is a good friend in "Details" magazine.
Goodness knows Matthew means well with this defense of Lance Armstrong, but it's kind of not even true, is it? Because while Lance Armstrong did tell a lie, he told the same lie over and over again to a lot of people for a long time, so yeah, he kind of is a liar. He not a terrible person, and he doesn't deserved to be stoned or anything, but words mean things, and the meaning of the word "liar" just so happens to correspond with Lance Armstrong and his actions. Sorry (not really).
If Matthew McConaughey wasn't so pretty, he'd be kind of pitiful, wouldn't he? Bless his heart.
