It's all pain, little gain for "Pain & Gain" star Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.
The actor was supposed to hit the red carpet for the Hollywood premiere of the new movie on Monday night -- but when the stars started arriving, he wasn't one of them.
When we asked Mark Wahlberg where his charismatic costar was, the actor said Johnson had to "have emergency surgery" at the last minute.
Sources tell toofab the operation was for a hernia, but the wrestler-turned-action star hasn't spoken out about it just yet.
A rep also had no comment.
This wasn't his first visit to the doctor's office this week either.
On Sunday, the 40-year-old tweeted "Saw my Dr who had to push my intestines back thru the tear in my abdomen. Kinda romantic. Surgery is next week.
Ouch! Feel better soon.
