The theme was “Punk: Chaos to Couture” at last nights Met Gala, but the stars didn't stop their style at their dresses. A popular accessory of the night -- nail art. The experts at MARS the Salon gave toofab step-by-step DIY instructions on how to master each look at home!
Our favorite nail art of the night: Nicole Richie.
1. File your nails into the desired shape.
2. Apply a base coat, and then apply 2 coats of burgundy polish on your nails.
3. Swipe the polish brush to draw the shape of heart (make them into heart shape).
4. Apply 2 coats of gold glitter polish onto the rest of the origin of the nail.
5. Apply a top coat for shine!
Katy Perry always has perfect nails, always. We're obsessed with this glitter manicure! Hiroko Fujikawa, owner of MARS the Salon, exclusively gave us tips for this look!
1. File your nails into the desired shape.
2. Apply a base coat of the desired metallic shade.
3. Apply 2 coats of gold glitter polish onto your entire nails.
3. Line 4 gold studs to make a diamond shape, then line ruby rhinestones at the center of the 4 studs.
4. Apply a top coat to help hold studs in place, and add shine!
Rosie Huntington-Whiteley also followed the glitter trend, and we loved it!

2. Apply a base coat, and then apply 2 coats of purple polish onto your entire nails.
3. With a precision brush, swipe the gold glitter polish from the middle of the nail to the edge.
4. Apply a top coat.
Dark hues were a recurring theme last night for the punk event -- Julianne Hough perfected the style!
1. File your nails into the desired shape.
2. Apply a base coat, and then apply 2 coats of black polish onto your nails.
3. Apply 1 coat of silver lame glitter polish on the middle finger's nail.
4. Apply 2 coats of gold glitter polish onto the rest of the remaining area of the nail.
5. Drop the loose silver glitter onto the third finger's nail while the polish is wet.
6. Apply a top coat.
