Warner Bros./HBO/Netflix
And the nominees are ...
One Battle After Another and The White Lotus both had great mornings thanks to the 83rd Annual Golden Globe Award nominations!
Noms dropped first thing Monday, with Marlon Wayans and Skye P. Marshall from Matlock announcing the news. Leading the pack was One Battle After Another on the movie side, with nine noms total; for television, it was HBO's White Lotus, which picked up six.
Behind the Leonardo DiCaprio film were Sentimental Value with eight noms and Sinners with seven, while Netflix's Adolescence followed close behind the Thailand season of Mike White's series with five noms.
When it comes to snubs, one of the most glaring is Wicked: For Good.
While the film's stars Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo were both nominated -- in Supporting Actress and Lead Actress, respectively -- the movie itself failed to crack the Best Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy category; instead, it was only nominated for Cinematic and Box Office Achievement. Director Jon M. Chu was also left off the list.
Jay Kelly was also left out of the Best Motion Picture -- Drama category, despite noms for stars George Clooney and Adam Sandler ... while the box office smashes Superman, A Minecraft Movie and Lilo & Stitch missed out on the Cinematic and Box Office Achievement category.
Avatar: Fire and Ash, meanwhile, did get a Cinematic and Box Office Achievement nom -- before it's even been released in theaters -- but failed to get a Motion Picture - Drama nomination or Best Director nod for James Cameron.
The third Knives Out movie, Wake Up Dead Man, also wasn't nominated at all -- this after the first two films scored noms in the Musical or Comedy category. Gwyneth Paltrow got no love for Marty Supreme, Roofman with Channing Tatum and Kirsten Dunst also failed to garner attention, while the Bradley Cooper-directed Is This Thing On?, starring Laura Dern and Will Arnett, was MIA as well.
Also left out of the film noms this morning was Jennifer Lopez and Kiss of the Spider Woman, Sydney Sweeney and her film, Christy, director Kathryn Bigelow's House of Dynamite and the rest of the Sinners cast -- including Miles Caton, Jack O'Connell, Wunmi Mosaku, Hailee Steinfeld and Delroy Lindo.
On the TV side, the divisive second season of The Last of Us only managed to garner at acting nomination for star Bella Ramsey, after both the series and Pedro Pascal earned recognition for Season 1. HBO's The Gilded Age was also nowhere to be seen, while The Pitt stars Katherine LaNasa and Shawn Hatosy also didn't get nominations, after winning the Emmy in their categories.
Stranger Things also didn't get any nominations for its final season, after The Hollywood Reporter says the show's first four episodes were submitted, as were the show's cast for supporting actors and actresses. The show has never won a Globe, in any category.
This is also the first year podcasts were given a category, with right wingers like Joe Rogan, Megyn Kelly, Tucker Carlson and Ben Shapiro -- the latter of whom campaigned for a nom -- were left off the list, despite being eligible. Travis and Jason Kelce's New Heights podcast also wasn't nominated, which shouldn't be much of a surprise, since it wasn't on the shortlist.
Check out the full list of noms below and find out who wins when Nikki Glaser hosts the Golden Globes on January 11 on CBS.
